Piano Teaching

Matthew got in touch with me to document one of his teaching sessions, with the aim of building a small bank of photographs for his marketing upcoming website. Rather than posed headshots or promotional material, he wanted something more honest — a glimpse into how he works, the space he teaches in, and the atmosphere he creates.

This shoot was low-key and observational, exactly the kind of work I love. We captured a regular piano lesson with one of his young pupils (with full permission from her parents), focusing on natural interaction, concentration, and those little unscripted moments that reveal real connection.

Environmental documentary photography like this is a great way for freelancers, tutors, or small businesses to give potential clients a true sense of what it feels like to work with them. It’s not just about what you do — it’s about how you do it.

Pete is an extremely impressive photographer. His attention to detail in regard to shape, colour, and lighting, are of the highest quality. He has a real passion for what he does and this can be seen in his catalogue of work.
I enjoyed working with Pete to produce photographs for my piano teaching website - in which we used a wonderful venue in the city of York. Pete put such care into this project and the outcome was an array of wonderful pictures.
I would strongly recommend Pete for any photography or videography projects that you have in mind.
